Camilo Matiz

The Space Between Us, 2018

In his continuous exploration of light and reflections, Camilo Matiz latest series ”The Space Between Us” place as always the observer in the middle of the artwork, using the surroundings as its canvas. A concave and convex vision of the surroundings, A distorted motion of the space paints the scenario on a abstract and constant changing movement.

”This work is in continuous transformation, it adapts to the area where is placed, making each interpretation absolutely unique”

The rotating abstraction of the space is Matiz’s signature to the overall reflection. It travels in the contours of the framed space, tinting, covering, hiding and revealing details.

A series of 5 completes the artwork, each with a singular view of colour and composition.

"You use a glass mirror to see your face, you use works of art to see your soul." George Bernard Shaw
